Lily Allen & Sarah Owen launch at Harvey Nichols

I can't describe how much I loved the documentary series "From Riches To Rags" watching sisters Lily Allen and Sarah Owen following their fashion business dream. It provided a inspiring and truthful insight into the time, effort and struggles involved in the setting up of a fashion business. It was just last year when the pair launched 'Lucy In Disguise,' the ultimate vintage shopping experience located in Covent Garden, where one can hire or buy the vintage pieces at a range of prices. But last night the business became even bigger, launching their new fashion line of ready to wear dresses at none other than Harvey Nichols.

Lily and Sarah last night wore some of their own creations from their vintage inspired collection. Lily wore a floor length pale green gown with a shining sequin bolero jacket and Sarah modelled a black beaded jumpsuit. Some famous friends including Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Charlotte Dellal and Jaime Winstone also modelled some beautiful pieces.

The event itself was very much vintage styled to the maximum, seeming every girls dream with carousel horses, seaside inspiration and waiters dressed in sailor suits.

Lily has described fictional character Lucy as “A time-traveling fashionista who’s inviting you to explore her wardrobe… It’s a great opportunity to play with the character."

"This is the place where the vintage loving girl can buy or hire desirable pieces from whichever decade she chooses. Housed under one roof, beaded dresses from the 20’s, evening gowns from the 30’s rub shoulders with 40’s tea dresses and prom dresses from the 50’s. Ossie Clark and Biba from the 60’s and 70’s, sequins and sparkle from the 70’s and 80’s, whether you want to look like Bianca at Studio 54 or Twiggy sashaying down the King’s road in ’67, you’ll find the right look for you at LID."

Much Love,
